They say life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get, but when we’re talking about sneakers that is never the case! There’s always a heads up and here is a major one! This Saturday, 28th February sees the return of the legendary 1972 Nike Cortez, a silhouette that would have never been created if it wasn’t for track and field coach Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight who at the time was actually still working for Asics (which may explain the similarities in the Asics – Corsair). 1972 was also the year that Blue Ribbon Sports changed to Nike. The joining of these two men led to the creation of the extremely comfy Cortez, a trainer that was then made extra special by the 1994 film Forrest Gump in which he recieves them as a gift (yes please)!
Available 28.02.2015 from Nike and select retailers worldwide.
